Surrey County Council
Face-to-face Annual Reviews

Date: October 2022 until present

Surrey County Council engaged Flex360 to undertake 850 face to face annuals. The workers were split into four teams each working with one of the four Adult Social Care locality areas. One Surrey County Council Adult Social Care Team Manager was assigned for each area to help strengthen working relationships and communication and for any issues to be flagged and managed quickly.  Reviews were completed in a strength-based, person-centred way with outcomes that meet the needs of the individual, monitored through a strong quality assurance process. The internal teams advised that the quality of reviews remained consistently high, taking pressure off incumbent teams.

Lead locality managers for this project all agreed that this was a successful project and a very positive experience. This project demonstrated strong joint working and has improved the outcomes for those being reviewed, with all Adult Social Care older people in residential/nursing care having had a current statutory review of their needs. Whilst initially commissioned on a 6-month contract, this is a partnership that continues to date with assessments currently being undertake within the DoLS team.
